They supply the touch of imagination,

which must needs attend any call to national self-

sacrifice, if it is to evoke adequate response.

may we not expect that the British public, when the

facts are laid before them by their responsible rulers,

will quickly perceive that the moral and political

gains, attendant upon the abolition of so grave an

international wrong, will far more than outweigh any

price which they will need to pay for its removal.
